Help Us Raise $125,000

Help us convert a nuisance property into quality apartments for Dutchtown

Lutheran Development Group (LDG) recently acquired 3025 Chippewa Street, situated across from the LDG offices. This project exemplifies the heart of LDG's work and its passion to create healthier community spaces to live, work, and play! The 7,704 square foot building formerly housed a corner convenience store called Global Mart, which was a nuisance business associated with open drug activity and related gun violence. LDG, along with neighborhood residents and organizations, worked with the city to have Global Mart closed in 2021.

LDG will renovate the Chippewa building to include eight apartments and one commercial space. The total cost to purchase and renovate the building, transforming it from a building of blight and violence into a positive anchor strengthening the community and creating vibrancy, is $700,000.

Missouri business owners can leverage their donation two to threefold with AHAP credits

Benevolent tax credits through the Affordable Housing Assistance Program (AHAP) can maximize your donation to LDG and earn you double or even triple the tax benefit!! To accomplish the needed fundraising for the building, LDG is seeking support from Missouri business owners to leverage $125,000 in donations through Missouri benevolent tax credits. Benevolent tax credits through AHAP can maximize your donation to LDG and earn you double or even triple the tax benefit over traditional donations!!

Individual gifts are also needed! Renovations are underway and your online gift today will provide the needed momentum to restore 3025 Chippewa!
